I can gather information, plan and write a series of releases, and track uptake. As an experienced journalist I have a sense of what facts make attractive stories – and also what to steer clear of.
While I can go micro, ferreting out facts and smoothing styles, I also have experience with the big picture. Most recently, I was press area head for the 77th World Science Fiction Convention in Dublin. I wrote and scheduled press releases, worked with other teams on a strategy for getting press coverage, set press policy and vetted press for access, and ran the press room at the convention itself.
